Was just reading this article, of course questioning who should be #1. Year after year, it annoys me that we have to have this conversation after there is a National Championship winner. I have no doubt this year, that Florida is the number one team. This is aside from me being a huge fan. This is the first year in a while that I think the top two teams played for the championship. If OU won, I’d be disappointed, but would feel the same way… that they are the best team in the country.

Would I like to see USC play Florida? Of course I would, I think it would be a great game. But USC wasn’t in the championship game. I don’t even want to argue about Texas playing Florida, because I think OU is better than Texas.

And Utah?? Sure they’re good, but they’re also in a very weak conference. The ranked teams they beat, before bowl season, were TCU (#12 at the time) and BYU (#14 at the time). That has zero comparison to OU’s schedule, or Florida’s schedule. Both teams had the hardest schedules this year.

The BCS is retarded, and I’m not the biggest fan of it at all. If we had a playoff, I think everyone would feel better about the winner of the championship game. But until then, we just have to deal with the BCS. And this year, the best two teams in the country played, and the best team in the country won it all.
